Reporting a correction

Corrections get priority over everything else in the inbox. If something on this site is wrong, out of date, or misleading, please tell us. It helps enormously if you can include:

We check the claim against the primary source, fix the page itself rather than quietly removing it, and update that page’s reviewed date when the change is substantive. The full process is set out in our Editorial Policy.

What we can help with

What we cannot help with

We cannot give personalized financial advice, and we will not try. That is not modesty, it is the point of the site: we explain how things work in general, and we do not know your income, your debts, your tax position, or your goals. A question like “should I pay off this loan or invest instead” depends entirely on details an article cannot see.

For decisions that carry real weight, a qualified professional who can look at your full situation is worth more than anything published here. See our Disclaimer.

We also cannot help with account problems at a bank, lender, card issuer, insurer, or government agency. We are an independent education site with no relationship to any financial company, so we have no access to your accounts and no ability to act on them. For those, contact the institution directly. If that fails, the CFPB complaint process is the official route for consumer financial complaints in the US.
