Salary ↔ hourly wage converter

Job offers, side gigs, and budgets all quote pay in different units - a salary here, an hourly rate there, a day rate somewhere else. Tell this converter the one figure you know and it translates it into all the others at once: annual, monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, and per paycheck. The advanced options handle overtime, paid time off, unpaid weeks, and a rough after-deductions view.

Lower this for unpaid time off (e.g. 50 for two unpaid weeks).

Advanced options - overtime, PTO, deductions, paycheck frequency

Shows what each hour you actually work earns.

Applies when converting from an hourly rate.

Optional rough taxes/benefits percentage - adds an after-deduction column.

How the math works

Everything routes through one number: annual gross pay. Whatever figure you enter is first converted to annual (hourly × hours/week × weeks/year; daily × days/week × weeks/year; weekly × weeks/year; monthly × 12), then divided back out into every other frequency - which is why the conversion works in any direction. Overtime is added at your multiplier when the known figure is hourly, since salaried pay typically already bakes it in. The PTO view answers a subtler question: dividing the same annual pay by fewer worked days shows what each working hour genuinely earns - often the fairest way to compare an offer with generous PTO against one without.

What is take-home pay and how it’s calculated covers the gap between gross and net, gross pay vs net pay defines the terms, and reading your first paycheck stub decodes the deductions line by line. For the full estimate with tax brackets, use the paycheck calculator.
